Beautiful Vintage-Inspired Farmhouse Style Signs...

Affiliate links provided.

Some signs really set the tone for a space, and I'm excited to share some beautiful ones with you today!

I recently had this 6-foot sign made for our shop space (at M&M Antiques) by Paula over at Castle and Cottage.  If the sign above looks familiar, we have a smaller version in our home, with the year we moved to our farmhouse...

First, More Grain Sack... Second, An Unlikely Coffee Table...

We are well into fall now, and I hope you're enjoying the season. Has it cooled off where you live? Someone flipped the switch here in the Pacific Northwest today. We went from bright, sun-shiny skies yesterday to rain today.

I'm grateful that the bright autumn shades of leaves are putting on a stunning show to compensate for the grey. It seems like there's a life lesson there - I guess it's that our attitude is shaped by what we choose to focus on...

And today we're going to notice those beautiful leaves. ;)

Sundays at Home

Hi Everyone! While I realize this is our Sundays at Home link party, my husband and I just shared a little time away from home for our anniversary. I thought you might enjoy seeing a picture of where we had coffee and breakfast. The London Plane in Seattle is a beautiful restaurant, bakery and flower shop, with lots of windows and light. Fall touches from nature, mixed in with woods and whites, creates a restful and inspiring environment to start the day. If you're ever in the Seattle area, put this one on your list!

Our Farmhouse Fall Porch (and something I've daydreamed of for years...)

I thought it would be fun to use a variety of farm-style containers on our porch this fall. Galvanized buckets, wood bushel baskets, and a vintage Lucerne dairy crate hold mums, cabbages, and rosemary. (Why rosemary? I love both the scent and the organic look.)

Pumpkins in sun-faded shades of green, orange and white seem at home on our well-used steps.

A Carriage Door in the Dining Room...

Every once in awhile, something very strange happens on my blog. I'm 99.9% sure that it is human error (aka: my fault). Well, today someone mentioned that this post, that I originally published a couple of days ago, was no longer available. Sure enough... it was gone. So, I went in, updated some links and hit publish. Then I noticed nothing was written! There were only pictures.

Well, shoot. But maybe like me, your week has been really full and the last thing you want is more words. In that case, this is your lucky post. ;) I'll just summarize it like this - we moved an old chippy carriage door into our dining room (not barn, farmhouse or garage door, but carriage door). A carriage house is an outbuilding smaller than a barn, where they used to house the horse carriage and tack. So if you happen upon an old door that is bigger than a house door, but smaller than a barn door, you have probably found yourself a carriage door.

Hope you enjoy the weekend! Just scroll down for all the pics and links to purchase some of the items found in this post.

Our Farmhouse Fall Entryway {bHOME Fall Tour}

Come in, come in! Get out of the Seattle rain and warm up in our entryway for awhile before you head off into the crisp autumn air to visit the next stop on our Love to bHOME in Fall Tour. Perhaps you're coming from Charity's beautiful home (Teaselwood Design)Welcome! I'm so happy you're here. At the end of this post, you'll find a complete list of home tours (packed with fall decorating ideas and tips) and a giveaway for a collection of velvet pumpkins. (I hope you win!)

I had fun changing up our entryway for fall. In place of an old chippy dresser, which now resides in our dining room, I brought in these antique theater seats. Extra seating in the entryway works especially well for fall and winter, when the struggle to get out of your boots is real!

Our Mini Farm in Numbers...

Hello and welcome to our little farmstead!

As of Thanksgiving, we will have lived here for four years! Some of you know the story of our search for a mini farm... but the quick version is this: When our three sons were 10, 7, and 4 years old, we wanted to find a place where they could roam free, explore and play to their hearts' content. We hoped for a home with some land and a barn. Our boys really wanted a dog. We pictured somewhere just passed the city limits, but still close to family and our boys' school.

We prayed and prayed. We couldn't shake the desire. When we found this place, it just felt like home. It had everything we were looking for (except marble kitchen countertops and updated bathrooms, but you know what I mean ;).
